ABSTRACT

In a previous article, a new way of teaching the Integrative Seminar of Microbiology for Chemical Engineering was presented, in Plan D. In this work, a continuation of the previous one, the way of teaching continues to be perfected, this time, in the subject Fundamentals of Biotechnology, with the requirements of Study Plan E. Therefore, the objective of the article is to show the way in which self-management of learning by students, training in the search for information based on of indexed data and the treatment to English in the analysis of biotechnological processes. The aspects that the students should develop in the seminar are presented, emphasizing the new ones in this Study Plan E. It shows how the new elements are inserted in the analysis of the scientific article by the students, examples of their self-management of knowledge and how they develop skills in technical English related to the subject. Finally, the advantages of teaching the integrative seminar are presented according to the requirements of Plan E. It is concluded that the insertion of English, training in the search for information in indexed databases and self-management of learning in the integrating seminar of the subject It is in accordance with what is embodied in the Professional Model of the career in this new Study Plan.
