ESPINOZA ORTIZ, Antonio Alejandro; GUAMAN ARIAS, Marco Patricio  y  SIGUENZA CAMPOVERDE, Wilson Guillermo. Coping Styles of Adolescents from Schools in Cuenca, Ecuador. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2018, vol.37, n.2, pp. 45-62. ISSN 0257-4314.

The aim of this paper was to combine the styles of facing situations with the variables of sex and stages of the vital cycle of adolescents from private, fiscal, and mixed funded institutions from the urban area in Cuenca from 2015 to 2017. A quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive and transversal approach was fallowed. The population was formed by 18 777 adolescents from 16 to 19 years old. The sample was taken from 1 001 students and it was statistically estimated with sample mistake, occurrence probability, non-occurrence probability and confidence level. The non-probabilistic method was used, by quote and intentionally chosen. The socio-demographic data collection sheet and the adolescents coping scales were the instruments used. The use of four basic strategies and of two facing styles was the fundamental result obtained. We could get to the conclusion that the strategies aimed to the solution of problems prevail.

Palabras clave : solution of problems; unproductive facing; strategies.
