The objective of this article is to develop didactic activities for the learning of the biology subject in students with moderate intellectual disabilities in the second year of the unified general baccalaureate at the "Manuel Andrade Ureta" Educational Institution, in the canton of Portoviejo, Ecuador. During the investigative process, methods such as historical-logical, inductive-deductive, analytical-synthetic analysis, documentary review and surveys were used. The participants in this study demonstrated weaknesses in learning the biology subject such as: little motivation for the subject, limited participation in classes, weak participation in activities carried out from the educational institution to enhance the learning of this subject. Once the proposed activities were applied, the following results could be verified: student motivation for the biology subject, they were participatory, active and enthusiastic during classes, their academic results improved considerably, as well as the development of skills, evidenced in the dissimilar activities that participated related to the subject under study. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed solution.
