MARTINEZ MORENO, Aldo Raudel; CASTILLO ELIZONDO, Jaime Arturo; BANDA MUNOZ, Fernando  y  TREVINO CUBERO, Arnulfo. Digital Competences and Non-face-to-face Teaching in Students of Higher Secondary Level. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2023, vol.11, n.3  Epub 01-Dic-2023. ISSN 2308-0132.

In Higher Secondary Education in Mexico as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the digitization of teaching became a necessity. For teaching in virtual environments, digital competences become essential. The objective of this research was to assess the development of digital skills in students of upper secondary level for the virtual modality. It is of a non-experimental, descriptive and cross-sectional type, in a high school attached to the Autonomous University of Nuevo León. A questionnaire was applied to students of the three semesters with Likert scales of five values, with multiple choice and open questions. Frequencies and mean were calculated. Two variables were studied: use and literacy in ICT for the distance teaching process, and perceptions about the teaching methodology in virtual environments. As results, mastery of basic software, social networks and virtual platforms was observed, as well as resources for information management, among others. Students' perceptions of face-to-face, hybrid and non-face-to-face teaching, the usefulness of digital resources, subjects with greater difficulty, etc., were investigated. The level of digital competences, according to the five-level Likert scale, was slightly above average.

Palabras clave : digital competences; ICT; on-line teaching; upper secondary level.
