DIAZ-RODRIGUEZ, Liudmila et al. Work culture: a current issue in the professional improvement of university teachers. EDUMECENTRO [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.3, pp. 367-381. Epub 30-Sep-2021. ISSN 2077-2874.
Background:
the professional improvement of the teacher of the XXI century must guide its contents towards the solution of daily problems, to educate for work and social life as an imperative of the sustainability of the country, so addressing the work culture is of singular relevance.
Objective:
to design a theoretical conception of the professional improvement of the higher education teacher that places the work culture as invariant.
Methods:
a descriptive study was carried out from January 2018 to March 2019 at the “Félix Varela Morales” headquarters of the “Marta Abreu” Central University of Las Villas. Theoretical methods were used: historical-logical, analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive; empirical ones: document analysis, interview with post-graduate teaching professors and survey (questionnaire as an instrument) to professionals who received postgraduate degrees. The analyzes were accompanied by mathematical processing and descriptive statistics graphics.
Results:
the diagnosis carried out showed the need to design a theoretical conception on professional improvement aimed at teachers, whose essence reveals the work culture as invariant.
Conclusions:
the theoretical conception of professional improvement that places the work culture as invariant, offers a renewed idea that emphasizes the need to educate for work and social life, as an imperative of the sustainability of the country in coherence with the contents of this process. It was valued by specialists who recognized its topicality, originality, relevance, coherence and scientific-pedagogical value.
