Resumen

ARIAS MOLINA, Jordani et al. Psychiatric disorders in adolescents during the epidemiological situation caused by COVID-19. Multimed [online]. 2021, vol.25, n.3  Epub 02-Mayo-2021. ISSN 1028-4818.

COVID-19 affects all ages. Quarantined children and adolescents, during the application of tests to check the presence of symptoms of posttraumatic stress, usually show scores three times higher (on average) compared to children who have not experienced seclusion. The objective was to identify psychiatric disorders in adolescents during the epidemiological situation caused by COVID-19. A cross-sectional descriptive observational study was carried out in the family's medical office belonging to the “Jimmy Hirtzel” Polyclinic of the Bayamo municipality during the months of May to October 2020. We worked with a sample of 113 adolescents. The variables studied were stress, anxiety and depression. 38,93% of adolescents showed a level of stress that has passed the limit; state anxiety was presented at high and medium levels with 46,90 % and 18,58% respectively; anxiety manifested itself as a state in 27,43%. It is concluded that stress was manifested in the majority of adolescents, who showed high states of anxiety and depression during the epidemiological situation caused by COVID-19.

Palabras clave : Stress; Anxiety; Depression; COVID-19.
