The core of the present study is the proposal of a set of actions to be applied in the English language teaching-learning process in the School of Energy and Mines (EEM) (Spanish acronym for Escuela de Energía y Minas, N. del T.), aimed at improving the oral skill of beginners. Such skill, together to reading, listening, and writing skills, are of the overall importance for a foreign language student. Regarding the assumed theoretical preconceptions, and the characteristics of EEM´s students, a research was carried out, whose main outcome was the joint design of teaching tasks to be applied in the teaching of English in this educational center.
