Resumen
AJA DIAZ, Antonio. The Cuban experience in the realization of the training and investigation projects in Population and Local Development. Rev Nov Pob [online]. 2015, vol.11, n.22, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1817-4078.
To integrate the perspective of the relationship between population and development into the economical and social development strategies demands a particular approach that takes as a starting point the territorial and local spaces, in coordination with the strengthening of the governmental, institutional, and academic competences at national, territorial, and local levels in order to understand and transform the current situation, and to efficiently manage the existing knowledge with regard to the development of social policies. Taking this assertion as a starting point, the Center for Demographic Studies of the University of Havana (CEDEM), has developed a capacity building and research project on population and local development issues, with several years of experience in provinces and municipalities of the country, that could very well be presented as an primary initiative in the inclusion of a more comprehensive perception, even from the people’s perception, on the subject of territorial.
