Resumen

Background:

information and communication technologies favor the development of the teaching-learning process in medical education.

Objective:

to assess the impact of the hypermedia "Internationalists forever" for learning local history in medical sciences.

Methods:

a prospective pre-experimental study was carried out at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Sagua la Grande from 2018 to 2020. Theoretical methods were used: analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction, structural systemic and historical-logical; and empirical ones: questionnaire to students.

Results:

the hypermedia "Internationalists forever" was implemented in the teaching-learning process with teaching tasks in the different organizational forms. The students expanded their knowledge about the internationalists from Sagua la Grande and their values of solidarity were consolidated; they also considered it an e- aid that is easy to use and portable, with sound and images, which can be consulted on their cell phone and is closer to their preferences for electronic materials over printed documents; they stated that it is an enjoyable way to learn about local history.

Conclusions:

the impact of hypermedia was effective in considerably increasing knowledge about local history related to their municipality of origin, and it was a useful e-aid to confirm their values of solidarity.
