Objective:
To analyze the concept of governance to reach its congruence with the transformations that take place in the current Cuban municipal management.
Methods and techniques:
Analysis and synthesis for the study of the different concepts and variables of governance; co-occurrence and cluster analysis of multivariate statistical techniques using VOSviewer 1.6.14, UciNet 6.717, NetDraw and Xmind software.
Main results:
A definition of governance was obtained from the state of the art and its compatibility with the transformations that take place in the current Cuban municipal management, as well as a proposal for operationalization and a conceptual map.
Conclusions:
It is corroborated that the political and socioeconomic transformations that are taking place in Cuba must be mainstreamed not only by new currents in public governance, but also by governance processes where citizen participation and knowledge management and innovation imply continuous learning in the that new values will be impregnated through continued practice.
