The following research aims to determine the factors that affect the academic performance of students in the Gestions Social y Desarrollo career through the analysis of the determiners that intervene in the personal, social and institutional environment in order to specify strategic guidelines that help to continuously improve the quality of the UPSE education system. Given that a deficit has been identified in the learning results of students in the higher education system at the national level, it is intended to justify the influence of various personal, social and institutional determinants. The present research work has a quantitative and descriptive approach, the same one that is based theoretically on the factors that affect the academic performance of students, through the bibliographic review and analysis of results, applying the survey as a data collection instrument, whose investigation gave as results that the factors that most affect the academic performance of students in the Gestions Social y Desarrollo career are personal factors, the economic situation and the teaching methodology.
