GONZALEZ GONZALEZ, Julio Alberto e ROQUE DIAZ, Pablo Romelio. Deep sea water as a renewable alternative for air conditioning in Cuba. Energética [online]. 2023, vol.44, n.3, pp. 1-8. Epub 02-Dez-2023. ISSN 1815-5901.
In this work, a study was carried out on the opportunity that exists in Cuba to use deep sea water as a renewable alternative for air conditioning. It identified the main coastal areas where the required depth could be accessed at a rational distance from the shore and the possible users with the greatest potential for this type of technology. Each place had its own characteristics so, as an illustration, a specific area was chosen for a case study, with the aim of evaluating the energy, economic and environmental impact that could be achieved by replacing the current conventional systems of vapor compression air conditioning. Input variables and maps were obtained from publicly available information and the rationality thresholds of a given project were identified through exergoeconomic analysis.
