SOLORZANO-INTRIAGO, Gissela María e LOOR-SALMON, Liliana del Rocío. Project Based Learning to Improve the Productive Skills in the Teaching and Learning of English. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2023, vol.11, n.2 Epub 01-Ago-2023. ISSN 2308-0132.
Learning the English language is of vital importance because it allows interaction with people from different cultures. Likewise, it allows updating in the various areas of scientific, academic, technical, and technological knowledge at a global level. The main objective of the research is to implement a Project-Based Learning model that allows the development of productive skills in the teaching-learning process of the English language for fourth-period students in the Software Development career of the Instituto Superior Tecnológico Tena, in Ecuador. The methodological approach used is quantitative with an experimental design of pre and post-test of the control group, for which a knowledge test was used. As a measurement instrument, a set of evaluation rubrics were designed. The population participating in the study was 30 students. The results indicate that the intervention group has obtained a significant advance in the oral and written production of the English language, unlike the control group which was not subjected to the implementation of the proposed teaching methodology. The project-based proposal improved interest in learning and the development of productive English language skills through reflection and problem-solving.
