BATISTA-SUAREZ, Yoennis; FERNANDEZ-COLUMBIE, Tomás H.; RODRIGUEZ-GONZALEZ, Isnel e LEYVA-LEGRA, Sadis. Microstructural transformations in a nodular foundation subject to austenic electrode welding process. Min. Geol. [online]. 2018, vol.34, n.4, pp. 470-484. ISSN 1993-8012.
The welded joint obtained with two electrodes (E 316 L-16 and UTP 65) was experimented in a nodular cast iron in order to establish the phase transformations that arise in the different zones. Samples were prepared with 12 mm of thickness and V shaped edges to 60°. For each electrode, joints were made with three welding passes. It was noticed that there is a tendency to cracking in the molten zone and at the interface with the formation of martensite and austenite when using the E 316 L - 16 electrodes; on the other hand, the deposit obtained with the UTP 65 electrode guarantees a better metallurgical continuity joint in the three zones by the dendritic ferrite and the austenite formation.
