Care is a function that guarantees quality and life expectancy in the elderly. The study was developed with the objective of sociodemographically characterizing the main caregivers of centenarians of the Santa Clara municipality in Cuba. A non-experimental and transversal design with exploratory-descriptive scope was used as a method. The data collection was done through the application of a questionnaire that integrates the demographic variables under analysis. The study confirms as results that care is an activity carried out mainly by women with an age range between the fifth and seventh decade of life. Most daughters of the centennial adult have assumed the role for more than five years, wich is a function carried out analogously to domestic or work tasks.
