The contextual reality of university teaching staff, as a result of the varied initial and continuous training of teachers who are now in front of the classrooms of higher education centers, motivate this research that aims to propose a model of professional performance of professor in municipal universities. It starts from an analysis of other approaches to this theoretical representation from different conceptions about the university professor and its performance, and proposes a functional approach of a model supported in the studies of advanced education and through a system of integrated competences.
