Introduction:

the preparation of managers of baseball teams through the training of skills implies a paradigm shift compared to traditional education to face the challenges of the various contexts with the necessary knowledge.

Objective:

To design indicators for the study of socioemotional competencies in managers of baseball teams in the under 15 and youth categories of the "Cerro Pelado" Sports Initiation School in Camagüey.

Materials and methods:

the research was carried out in the 2018-2019 school year. The diagnosis was applied to ten directors of the baseball teams of the sub 15 and youth categories of the "Cerro Pelado" Sports Initiation School, selected for an intentional demonstration when detecting insufficiencies in group cohesion and sense of belonging, which that disrupted the correct harmony and interpersonal relationships, of coaches, managers and athletes.

Results:

the factual study shows that social and emotional factors are unquestionably present in the sports scenario, so it is necessary that post-graduation training be taken into consideration and commitment is assumed in the development of this type of socio-economic competences. affective, with the commitment to train professionally competent managers.

Conclusions:

through the indicators designed and the subsequent diagnosis made, it shows that there are theoretical-methodological deficiencies in relation to the formation of socio-emotional competencies in baseball team managers.
