Introduction:

Currently, there have been a series of important and significant changes in the evaluation process for nursing teachers in Latin American countries, of which the Republic of Ecuador has not been exempt and where the primary objective is to train professionals in advanced in this area.

Objective:

Determine the results of the evaluation strategy of teaching performance in professors of the Nursing Degree.

Methods:

Descriptive, cross-sectional study in 32 teachers of the Nursing Career of the Faculty of Social and Health Sciences of the State University of the Santa Elena Peninsula, Ecuador. The instruments analyzed to give an exit to the objective of the study were the self-evaluation, peer evaluation and hetero-evaluation of each teacher in the first semester of 2016.

Results:

The 71.87 % of the teachers of the Nursing Career are women; the most represented components were research and teaching. The components in which their teachers received better scores were: academic management, connection with the community and research.

Conclusions:

The results obtained with the application of the evaluative strategy to the teaching performance were positive since the teachers predominated with satisfactory evaluations especially in the components direction or academic management, connection with the community and research.
