A qualitative intervention research was carried out in order to implement a strategy for the educational work and value formation in medical students of fourth year, which allows improving the general physician's training in the Southern Children Hospital from Santiago de Cuba. For this reason, some techniques such as intervention-action, intervention-action-participation, observational structured guide, as well as some regulations, indications, and ministerial resolutions to these effects, among other documents about this topic, including interviews to professors, management staff, and students from the different teaching areas, were used. The aforementioned strategy guarantees a better student integration, an appropriate methodological training of professors, and a markedly intentionality in the value formation, which contribute to improve the student training to practice medicine in primary health care showing a great performance.
