Tobacco consumption in young people has become a social problem, so that determining the level of cigarette consumption in students is important in order to identify the effect of this substance. An observational, quantitative and transversal research was carried out in a sample of 68 students belonging to level zero of the dentistry career of UNIANDES, to whom a validated survey on tobacco consumption was applied, obtaining as relevant results the existence of a high level of ignorance about the consequences of tobacco consumption, reaching the conclusion that students should be educated in a better way about the negative effects of smoking.
