The article offers concrete methodological recommendations concerning how the English language teacher of general education in Cuba can teach writing in the English lessons and, thus, put his or her knowledge of that language didactics at the service of teachers in training. This work responds to the Perfection of the direction of the educational process in general and, in particular, of the teaching - learning process, its components and relations, contributing to the English teachers´ pedagogical professional performance in the new conditions under the impacts of the pandemic period of COVID-19. Taking into account the teachers´ necessities in their practicum, the objective of the article is to share some essential aspects to be considered for developing this ability, the characteristics of written texts, and motivated activities that contribute to the development of creativity in writing in primary, middle and high educations, which would favor the achievements of the English communicative competence required in those educations, as well as the teachers themselves.
