The text presents a debate about the terms cultural industry and creative industry coming from the political economy of the culture of communication, its main weaknesses and strengths for the analysis of the organizations whose purpose is the symbolic production in the Cuban XXI century. Also, it approaches the evolution of public policies in the sector of economy and culture that propitiate the creation and development of new enterprises whose purpose is cultural production. It ends with reflections and conclusions for an in-depth study of these organizations.
