PENAFIEL REA, Juan Isaac y ALDAS ARCOS, Helder Guillermo. Recreational activities to develop basic motor skills in school Physical Education. Conrado [online]. 2023, vol.19, n.92, pp. 305-312. Epub 30-Jun-2023. ISSN 1990-8644.
Physical Education contributes to the motor and comprehensive development of schoolchildren; the lack of professionals in this area brings difficulties in this development. The objective of this study is to propose recreational activities for the development of basic motor skills in Physical Education classes in middle school students of the Guapán Educational Unit. The research design is descriptive, with a cross-sectional quantitative approach. Here, 60 high school students aged between 9 and 12 years participated, selected through non-probabilistic sampling by judgment. The Test of Gross Motor Development TGMD-2, test was applied to identify the level of basic motor skills. The results show that there are significant motor deficiencies in the 3 school grades with poor levels and below average according to the assessment scale. Subsequently, a proposal for recreational activities was developed as an alternative solution.
