In 1995, an epidemiological research at national level was performed in order to analyse buccal health status of Cuban population. We studied a sample of 3 805 persons from 16 health areas, corresponding to 11 provinces. Model recommended by World Health Organization (WHO) for this type of study was used. 6 stomatologists were trained and sized up as well as their respective assistants. Data were processed in a computer by EPINFO program. Results were compared with planned aims by WHO for 2000 year. Aims 1, 2, 3, and 4 are fulfilled according planning, except for number 5.
