Due to the alarming growth of bacterial resistance, a literature review was made on the more recent antimicrobial families that are being used to fight against bacterial-caused infections, fundamentally against multiresistant bacterias that have caused the greatest problems in the management of sepsis, namely penicillin-resistant Strteptococcus pneumoniae, methicillin- resistant Staphylococcus aureus and vancomycin-resistant enterococci.
