An ultraviolet spectrophotometry method was developed and validated to evaluate the dissolution profiles of the controlled-release pentoxiphillin tablets. The unsaturation condition of pentoxiphillin in the dissolution medium used was proved and the specificity, lineality and accuracy parameters, as well as the influence of filtration and stability of the active principle, were evaluated. The results obtained showed the reliability of the method and the possibility to use it in the quality control of the drug.
