A review is made on the caducity of drugs. The main concepts in relation to this topic are discussed and an analysis of the factors that one way or the other may influence on the expiration of drugs is made. Some doubts about this topic are dealt with and the link existing between the expiration and safety of drugs is stated. It is analyzed the impact that a too short period of expiration may have on the patients and on the system of distribution and commercialization of drugs. Some final reflections are made on this regard, trying to explain what to do with drugs and their expiration.
