Science is currently working on the discovery of new alternatives of safer anti-inflammatory drugs and one of them is the use of medicinal plants, one of the oldest forms of treatment. For these purposes, the Medline database (Pubmed) as well as national journals were reviewed from 2000 up to the present, using keywords "inflammation" and "anti-inflammatory Cuban plants" or "anti-inflammatory activity" and "medicinal plants".
Keywords : inflammation; nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory; medicinal plants.
