The case of a patient presenting with immunoproliferative small intestinal disease, alpha chain disease type is reported with the aim of presenting an infrequent entity, being the second case reported in Cuba. The disease started with a history of diarrheal pictures related to giardiasis and it was diagnosed by jejunal biopsy by oral route. The clinical improvement achieved after treatment based on tetracycline (in a dose of 1 g) and prednisone (60 mg by oral route) is highlighted. The patient is still asymptomatic after a six month period of observation.
