Abstract
ALFONSO TRUJILLO, Israel et al. Psoriasis vulgar: Estudio descriptivo de 200 pacientes. Rev cubana med [online]. 2002, vol.41, n.1, pp.12-15. ISSN 0034-7523.
A national multicentre and descriptive study was conducted among 200 patients from 7 provinces in order to know the behavior of psoriasis vulgaris in our country. It was found that psoriatic patients accounted for 6 % of those receiving attention at the Dermatology Department, that 96 % of them had been treated before and that steroids had been the most used. A frequency similitude was observed between both sexes, as well as a predominance of the white race. The Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) was low (6.9 units) and 88 % of the patients had pruritus of variable intensity. The results were discussed and compared with reviews published by other countries.
