Abstract

CUTINO MAAS, Yainelí et al. Occlusion of the middle cerebral artery secondary to the consumption of oral contraceptives. Rev cubana med [online]. 2007, vol.46, n.1. ISSN 0034-7523.

A young woman with migraine who consumed oral contraceptives during a period of 4 years and suffered from an ischemic stroke due to an occlusion of the right middle cerebral artery with important repercussion on the motor function of the left hemibody was presented. Uncommon causes of brain ischemia in the young adult were searched, but they were discarded, and that's why an etiological relation to the above mentioned risk factors was established.
