Abstract

GONZALEZ-CARBAJAL PASCUAL, Miguel  and  MARTINEZ LEYVA, Ludmila. Endoscopy in treatment of non-complicated dyspepsia: truths and shadows. Rev cubana med [online]. 2009, vol.48, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-302X.

In Cuba, trained Integral General Physicians perform excellent endoscopies. It allows availability of this diagnostic mean for community, and also to perform this scanning for everybody. We reviewed current approach strategies for patients aged less 50 presenting with non-complicated dyspepsia including initial endoscopy, test to treat strategy, empirical treatment using proton pump inhibitors and endoscopy. Inabilities of other countries for adopting initial endoscopy as choice procedure were appointed. We analyzed complexity of the counterproductive side effects related to strategies that not use initial endoscopy. We emphasize on adverse effects of an eradicating treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection in a so wide group of patients, and need of a deep study of infection epidemiology is underline, specially its transmission as a rational way of eradication in community, and decrease of associated diseases.

Keywords : Endoscopy; Helicobacter pylori; dyspepsia.
