Abstract
ALFONZO GUERRA, Jorge Pablo. Challenges paradox the increase in some of the risk factors and the increased life expectancy vs. health reality. Rev cubana med [online]. 2016, vol.55, n.2, pp. 159-166. ISSN 1561-302X.
Over the last years, papers, in which a probable paradox is evident, have been publishing. It is the paradox among the increase in some of the risk factors that are modifiable, eg obesity, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and the increased life expectancy. That is, greater risks and life expectancy. If true, how to explain this paradox? The aim of this paper is to present a reflection on the alleged paradox among increase of risk factors for noncommunicable chronic diseases, including obesity and overweight and the increasing life expectancy.
Keywords : obesity; diabetes; hypertension; cardiovascular risk factors; life expectancy.
