Abstract

307 of a total of 340 educators working at the day care centers of Marianao municipality, in Havana City, were surveyed to evaluate their knowledge and attitudes in connection with epilepsy. The results were as follows: 39.6 % don't know what kind of disease epilepsy is, 100 % have never received specialized information on this regard, its origin is unknown for 51 % of them, 46.2 % consider that these children are less intelligent than the normal children, whereas 38 % think they should be in specialized institutions.
