Abstract

MARTINEZ GONZALEZ, Luis Raúl  and  DE PAULA PAREDES, Analiz. Abnormal entry of the umbilical vein into the right atrium: A case report. Rev Cubana Obstet Ginecol [online]. 2001, vol.27, n.3, pp.214-216. ISSN 0138-600X.

A rare case of fetal malformation was reported in which the diagnosis was an abnormal entry of the umbilical vein into the right atrium, accompanied by a diaphragmatic eventration with location of the right hepatic lobe in the hemi-thorax. After giving genetic counseling service to the couple, the termination of the pregnancy was performed at 20,5 weeks of gestation by the Rivanol method. The result was a female fetus weighing 320g. The antenatal ultrasonographic diagnosis was anatomopathologically confirmed.
