Of a total of 1143 biopsies performed, 60 were endometrial hyperplasias, accounting for 5.2 %, whereas 21 corresponded to endometrium cancer, for 1.8 %. Hyperplasias were more frequent between 40 and 49 years of age. The most common disease was obesity. 47.6 % of women with endometrial adenocarcinoma were diagnosed at stage IA, and the most frequent histological type was the typical adenocarcinoma. A considerable percentage of patients with hyperplasias were cured by the conservative treatment. The incidence of death from this cancer was low.
