Drugs are the most used resource in the history of medicine. The increase of the number of pharmacologicals available and the increasing information about their effectiveness and safety are an effect of the scientific and technical development of society nowadays. According to conducted studies, women consume between 4 and 10 different drugs during pregnancy and, as a result, the fetus presents as much risk due to the well-intended use of drugs as due to the complications that may occur during pregnancy and/or labor. The chronological, morphological and functional events of embriological and fetal development by weeks of gestation, the teratogenic effects most frequently produced by a group of drugs with teratogenesis tested in humans, as well as the probable effects of a series of drugs with potential risk for producing embryofetal affectation are referred to.
