ALPIZAR CABALLERO, Lourdes B.  and  MEDINA HERRERA, Esther E.. Physiopathology of fever. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 1999, vol.28, n.1, pp.49-54. ISSN 0138-6557.

The main physiopathological mechanisms involved in the production of fever as a benefitial defensive response of the host against different agressions were analyzed. It is stressed the role of the cytokine-producing cellular stocks with endogenous pyrogenic activity and the regulating response of the hypothalamus to the increase of prostaglandins in the control of the functional alteration that originated it without demaging the organism.
