Abstract
MORA GONZALEZ, Salvador; DIAZ DE LA HOZ, Miriam B. and INFANTE VELAZQUEZ, Mirtha. Evaluación de las medidas antiepidémicas ante un brote de hepatitis viral aguda por virus A. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2001, vol.30, n.4, pp. 245-250. ISSN 1561-3046.
An evaluative investigation on the quality of the antiepidemic measures was made. The efficiency of this intervention was considered as the capacity to control in the target population the magnitude and severity of the problem as well as the main risk factors. To this end, the study was conducted in a closed institution affected by an outbreak of acute hepatitis A virus. The differences between the epidemic conglomerates that appeared in the affected independent groups were established. The diverse indicators of impact and risk were calculated and it was demonstrated that group 1 had the lowest quality standard for having the higher rates of attack (29.4 %), risk for faecal oral trasmission (92 %), relative risk (9 %), and etiologic fraction of risk (64.3 %). Likewise, in this group there were more significant rates of absenteeism, hospitalization and cost on account of preventive-curative care.
