Abstract

JANE LARA, Alfredo et al. Ecuaciones de predicción derivadas de la espirometría en hombres sanos no fumadores. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2002, vol.31, n.4. ISSN 0138-6557.

A cross-sectional study was conducted to establish the regression or prediction equations of the normal pulmonary function in 85 sound non-smoker males from a health area of Cerro municipality, in Havana City, from February to May, 2001. Through the lineal regression adjustment by minimum squares of the spirometric variables FVC, FEVI, FEF25-75 and PEF, the foreign regression equations appearing in literature as officials and that adapted the best to our results, were: for FVC those of Cherniack 1972, for FEVI those of Morris 1971, for FEF25-75 those of Morris 1971, and for PEF those of Tinker 1961, which are recommended to be used in our adult male population.

Keywords : SPIROMETRY [methods]; RESPIRATORY FUNCTION TESTS [methods]; REFERENCES VALVES; CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDIES.
