Abstract
RODRIGUEZ VALDES, Roberto; PEDRAZA VILELA, Magalys and BURUNATE POZO, Mercedes. Factores predisponentes y precipitantes en pacientes atendidos por conducta suicida. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2004, vol.33, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3046.
Data of the patients seen at the Psychiatry Emergency Department from January, 1999, to November, 2001, were collected to assess the predisposing and precipitating factors of suicidal behavior. The trend towards attempted suicide prevailed among young subjects, white jobless females with no partner and with a middle educational level. The highest percentage of attempted suicide resulted from the ingestion of drugs, particularly psychopharmacological agents. The most significant areas of conflict were the family and the couple. The adaptation disorders with affective symptoms, the personality disorders and the patients with alcohol overconsumption and the alcohol dependents were the most common.
