Abstract
CANIZARES GRAUPERA, María Elena; HERNANDEZ URQUIA, Suanet; DOMINGUEZ ALVAREZ, Carlos and CARRAL NOVO, Juan. Método para evaluar la adhesividad por tracción de diferentes adhesivos cianoacrílicos. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2004, vol.33, n.1. ISSN 0138-6557.
One of the important mechanical properties to be controlled in a tissue adhesive is its adhesiveness capacity. It is potentiated in the particular case of surgical adhesives when they are used in arterial or intestinal anastomosis. The tension to which the joined segments will be subjected requires a complete safety as regards the strenght of the joining. For the particular case of surgical adhesives with cyanoacrylic base it has been described a simple method to measure this joining. A new variant giving useful primary information for routine tests by using a few easily attainable resources is presented in this paper. The technique showed that the behavior of the composition under study was not different from the analogous commercial compositions that had been comparatively evaluated (0.42-0.45 Newton) and that the incorporation of the histological technique allowed to observe that all the evaluated adhesive compositions surpass the necessary force for supporting tissues, since the adhesive joining between the 2 layers of tissue evaluated was kept intact.
