Abstract

WALWYN SALAS, Verónica et al. Utilidad de técnicas histológicas para el diagnóstico de infección en piezas anatómicas. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2004, vol.33, n.2. ISSN 0138-6557.

A study on the introduction and mounting of the most used special histological techniques of staining in specialized domestic institutions, in "Pedro Kourí" Institute and "Aballí" Pediatric Hospital, to identify the different types of nosocomial germs at cellular level in samples taken from biopsies, cytology and necropsies, was performed. These special histological techniques such as methyl green pyronine, Gleen, Gram, metenamine silver, among others were studied to raise the quality of histological diagnosis in biopsies, cytology and necropsies as far as nosocomial infections are concerned in addition to making changes of some of the special histological techniques that better allow the identification. The results of the mounting of these techniques facilitate specific histological diagnosis of germ causing sepsis, which allow the application of preventive and therapeutical methods to the patients.

Keywords : nosocomial infections; histological techniques; infection diagnosis.
