In July, 2001, the ecography of the locomotor apparatus was introduced in the Center for Clinical Research. This study with the time led to an increase of the number of subjects due to its usefulness in Orthopedics, Traumatology, Physiatrics and Rheumatology to get an accurate diagnosis and, as a result, to indicate an appropiate treatment for patients. This study provides not only diagnostic but also prognostic data in certain diseases, and in many patients it has been used as an elective treatment to decide whether to perform surgery or not. This work was done until September, 2003, when 524 patients had been registered. Shoulder and knee articulations were the main indications.
