Abstract

FALCON LINCHETA, Leopoldina; MORALES JIMENEZ, Emilio; RODRIGUEZ CRUZ, Yurexis  and  QUEVEDO FONSECA, Carlos. Cuban questionnaire for the evaluation of the quality of life of the patient with dermatological affections. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2008, vol.37, n.2. ISSN 0138-6557.

The health-related quality of life has occupied an important place to improve the attention to patients and our specialty, and Dermatology has not been foreign to it. This is the first attempt to make a general autochthonous instrument in Dermatology. The research required a wide bibliographic review, group expert analysis to detemine those factors measuring the quality of life, the creation of an initial questionnaire and quantitative evaluation, determination of validity and reliability of the test, assessment of the initial pilot study, application of statistical methods, depuration of the initial questionnaire and its evaluation, and the making of a definitive questionnaire and evaluative method, ending with a generalized preliminary pilot study. The results attained so far show that the Quality of Life General Questionnaire in Dermatology and the medical and qualitative evaluation of the quality of life allow to determine it in our dermatological patients with sufficient accuracy.

Keywords : Quality of llife; general questionnaire; Dermatology; medical and qualitative evaluation.
