Abstract
CARRAL NOVO, Juan Mariano and MONTERO GONZALEZ, Teresita. Histopathology of the arterial healing. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2011, vol.40, n.2, pp.197-102. ISSN 0138-6557.
The significance of the arterial lesion in traumata is conditioned bye to cause or to favor the death due to hemorrhage and shock during the first hours or due to a multiple damage of organs in the ischemias and gangrene later. The histopathology of arterial healing must to be of interest for the specialists in vascular disorders, since the technical errors in this type of surgery are due to a lack of knowledge or an omission of phenomena involved in vascular healing. The objective of present paper is to characterize the morphology of arterial vascular repair to standardize the study. The total tissular repair is a physiological curative response with formation of neo-intima and includes: emigration of smooth muscular cells from the media to intima, consecutive multiplication of intimal cells, as well as the synthesis and depot of extracellular matrix. The study of the arterial vascular repair morphology allows its appropriate orientation, to understand the events produced and to explain the potential complications in patients involved.
