Abstract

D´MEZA PEREZ, Gustavo; ZALDIVAR PUIG, Martha  and  MARTIN FERNANDEZ, Ramón. Cost of Hotel Managing Contracts for Cuban Lodging Industry. Econ. y Desarrollo [online]. 2017, vol.158, n.2, pp. 141-150. ISSN 0252-8584.

This paper exposes participation of hotel management contracts in the Cuban lodging industry, calculates its financial cost, compares with the cost of hotel franchises and determinates its negative impact in domestic touristic economy. Authors conclude that this trend compromise the future of lodging industry and create technological dependence, then propose to empower Cuban owner operators as way to create competitive advantages that would allow the positioning of Cuban hotels brands.
