Abstract

FONSECA HERNANDEZ, Raúl. Human Sustainable Development at a Local Level - How Territory has been included in Theories of Development. Econ. y Desarrollo [online]. 2019, vol.162, n.2, e3.  Epub Aug 08, 2019. ISSN ISSN.

This work is aimed at examining a new theoretical conception of human sustainable development at a local level. For this, it is analyzed how the concept of territory has been included in such theories of development as endogenous development, local economic development, center-periphery model, cluster theory, industrial district concept, global value chains, business context, territorial development strategy, for achieving human sustainable development at a local level. Some strategies for managing seven endogenous resources in territories in short, medium, and long-term prospective scenarios are suggested. Challenges to human sustainable development at a local level are identified.
