Abstract

DIAZ LAZO, Regla Yelenne. History in the Analysis of Scientific Knowledge: From Marx to the Epistemology of Contemporary Science. Econ. y Desarrollo [online]. 2021, vol.165, n.1  Epub Dec 15, 2020. ISSN 0252-8584.

From Karl Marx to the epistemology of contemporary science, a line of analysis of scientific knowledge is followed. This line sometimes presents discontinuities and visible ruptures. This work aims to reveal the importance of history for the understanding and development of science, through the analysis of its impact on the process of production of scientific knowledge. Taking Marx as a starting point, it explores the presuppositions of the positivist logical school and the historicist school of the philosophy of science that succeeded him, up to the aspects of the epistemology of contemporary science. This analysis allows us to understand the epistemological complexity of science from its multiple historical, social and cultural interactions and its current challenges.

Keywords : scientific knowledge; epistemology of contemporary science; philosophy of science; history; Marx; logical positivism.
