QUINONEZ, Rugina Elidea; MORENO GARCIA, Roberto René and PARRA PEREZ, Katia María. The Change of the Productive Matrix as an Expression of the Transformation of the Development Model. Particularities in the Republic of Ecuador. Econ. y Desarrollo [online]. 2022, vol.166, n.1 Epub Jan 01, 2022. ISSN 0252-8584.
In Latin America, changing the development model represents a challenge for governments and their administrative structures. This requires resources, the will to implement inclusive public policies and favorable national and international circumstances. The transformation of Ecuador's productive matrix from the current primary export model to a diversified economy is one of the main challenges to achieve economic development in harmony with the environment and society, fundamental pillars of sustainable development and the 2030 Agenda. This article presents the theoretical foundations and the evolution of the primary export model in Latin America, as well as its relationship with the productive matrix as a reflection of its transformation. The main results are theoretical and methodological conclusions that demonstrate the functional and causal link between the elements that characterize the economic development of a country in the regional environment.
